This building used to be an old derelict cinema building which the developer gained permission to change into high end luxury apartments.
The client was keen to ensure that the heritage of the building was preserved and so he wanted to install steel windows as they were in keeping with what the original windows would have been.
We manufactured and installed new double glazed windows and doors from our Parliament steel profiles as we could achieve a very slender aesthetic using true 'T bar' glazing bars.
The windows were hot dip galvanised and then powder coated black (RAL 9005 matt) and had 16 mm double glazed insulating units which had 4 mm soft coat glass to the inner pane, 8 mm Krypton gas with a black warm edge spacer/ to the cavity and 4 mm low iron glass on the outer pane. This ensured that the windows achieved a 1.2 W/m2K centre pane U value and thus met current building regulations.
The front facade has two opening inwards single doors to create Juliet balconies.
The rear elevation has a number of double doors to the ground floor and the penthouse has a single door in a 'raw' steel finish.
